Copyright & Content Policy
Last updated: August 2026
Two quite different bodies of work live on this site, and they are governed by different rules. This page explains both, plainly.
1. The paid catalogue
Every title you can buy here — the text, the covers, the series artwork and the site content around them — is an original work, © Avneet Digital Enterprises. All rights reserved. Buying a book grants you a personal licence to read it; it does not transfer any copyright. See the Terms of Service for what that licence covers.
2. The free summaries section
The free summaries section is something else entirely. It holds original editorial summaries of books that are in the public domain, sourced from Project Gutenberg. The underlying books are out of copyright — their authors are long dead and their terms long expired.
We do not host, sell, or redistribute the full text of those books. Every summary links back to the free original at Project Gutenberg, which is where you should go to read the actual book. Our summary is a separate, newly written work; the book it describes is not ours and never was.
3. The summaries are written by AI
We would rather say this at the top of the page than bury it: the summaries in the free section are written by AI— Anthropic’s Claude and comparable large language models — under our editorial direction, and the cover artwork in that section is generated programmatically rather than commissioned or scanned. Each summary records the model that produced it.
This is a deliberate choice: it is the only way one small press can offer readable summaries of tens of thousands of public-domain books for free. It also means the text can occasionally misstate a plot point, a date, or a name, and — despite our checks — could unintentionally echo a phrase from somewhere it should not. We treat that as our problem, not yours.
4. If you think something here infringes your rights
We take infringement claims seriously and we act fast — we would far rather remove something and look again than leave it up and argue. Send us the URL and a short explanation at support@myebooksbuy.com, and we will respond within 48–72 hours.
For a formal notice under the DMCA, including the details a valid notice must contain and our designated agent’s address, see DMCA / Notice & Takedown.
5. Project Gutenberg
We are not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by Project Gutenberg. “Project Gutenberg” is a trademark of the Project Gutenberg Literary Archive Foundation, and we use the name here only to identify where our public-domain source texts come from. Project Gutenberg’s own terms apply to its files, not to ours.
6. Reusing our work
Our summaries, our site design and our paid titles are not free to republish. If you want to quote a summary, a short excerpt with a link back is fine. Anything larger — bulk copying, scraping, model training on the collection, or republishing it as your own — is not. Ask us first: support@myebooksbuy.com.
