We respect other people’s intellectual property and we expect the same courtesy in return. myebooksbuy operates a strict notice-and-takedown policy: send us a valid complaint and we will remove or disable access to the material in question, normally within 48–72 hours of receipt.

This covers everything on the site, paid titles included. Every book we publish is written by AI under our editorial direction — see Copyright & Content Policy — so we treat a complaint about a book we sell exactly as seriously as one about a free page. If a paid title is withdrawn on a valid complaint we take it off sale, and anyone who bought it can claim a free replacement title of their choice from the catalogue.

What a valid notice must contain

Under 17 U.S.C. §512(c)(3), a notice must include all six of the following. A notice missing any of them may not be legally effective, and we may have to come back to you for the rest — which only slows the removal down.

1. A physical or electronic signature of the copyright owner, or of someone authorised to act on the owner’s behalf.
2. Identification of the copyrighted work you say has been infringed — or, if several works at one site are covered by a single notice, a representative list of them.
3. Identification of the material you want removed or disabled, including the full URL of each page on myebooksbuy.com, so we can find it without guessing.
4. Your contact details: name, postal address, telephone number and email address.
5. A statement that you have a good-faith belief that the use complained of is not authorised by the copyright owner, its agent, or the law.
6. A statement that the information in the notice is accurate and — under penalty of perjury — that you are the copyright owner or are authorised to act on the owner’s behalf.

What we do when a notice arrives

• We acknowledge receipt by email.
• We remove or disable access to the material, normally within 48–72 hours of receiving a valid notice — while we assess it, not after.
• We record the notice and review anything else produced the same way, in case the problem is wider than the one page you found.
• Where a page was generated automatically, we also suppress it from being regenerated.
• If the material was a paid title, we withdraw it from sale and give every buyer of it a free replacement title of their choice — see Refund & Cancellation.

Counter-notice

If you believe material was removed by mistake or misidentification, you may send a counter-notice to the same address. It should contain your signature, identification of the removed material and where it appeared, a statement under penalty of perjury that you have a good-faith belief the removal was a mistake, and your contact details together with your consent to the jurisdiction of an appropriate court. We will forward it to the original complainant. If they do not file a court action, we may restore the material in 10–14 business days.

Please note that knowingly making a material misrepresentation in either a notice or a counter-notice carries liability for damages under §512(f).

Repeat infringers

We terminate the accounts and access of repeat infringers in appropriate circumstances, and we may refuse service to anyone who repeatedly submits infringing material or abusive notices.

A note on how our books are made

Every book on this site — the paid catalogue and the free summariesalike — is written by artificial intelligence, Anthropic’s Claude and comparable large language models, under our editorial direction. Covers are designed in-house or generated programmatically. The full position, including what we do and do not claim ownership of, is on our copyright page.

Language models can occasionally produce a passage that resembles their training material more closely than anyone intended. We edit against it, but we will not claim a level of checking we do not perform across many thousands of pages. So we would rather over-remove than argue: if something here troubles you, tell us and it comes down while we look.
